We've not long returned from a successful and busy work trip to Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney. We filmed "Who Are You?" in Tanilba Bay, NSW, as well as a couple sermons shared while in Adelaide. We are also working on getting the second, revised edition of Hope of the Resurrection in print by early next month. This is particularly exciting as this edition will also be made available completely free - as the good news should always be.

It was almost 15 years ago in 1997 that we first launched this website. Today we're delighted to be trialling a new subdomain suited specifically for mobile phones and tablets. The minimalist design of m.message7.org will host about a dozen short gospel films and Hope of the Resurrection eBook formats.

The films currently featured on the mobile web site are streamed in FLV format, are just 320x180 in size, and are recommended for mobile devices. Feel free to test the site; your comments, feedback and experiences are appreciated.

In order to test the mobile website, either type m.message7.org into mobile brower's address bar, or photograph the QR code to the right with your mobile device, and you will then be directed to the website.

If your mobile device cannot read the QR code to the right, you may download and install the free QR Droid or similar QR software from your apps store.

The mobile website also offers Hope of the Resurrection in several eBook formats, all completely free. Hope of the Resurrection is now also hosted at www.authonomy.com where we have had several very encouraging and positive reviews from other authors.

We're delighted to announce that the German translation of Hope of the Resurrection has been completed, and that we will soon be offering the book in both hard copy and eBook formats.

We are now, at this time, looking for volunteers who may be interested in helping translate Hope of the Resurrection  into Spanish and Urdu Pakistan languages. Please contact us if you would like to help in this area.

We believe and teach that there is an Almighty, Creator God, and that the Bible is a true testimony to who he is, what he is doing, and what his plans are. We believe that Jesus is the son of God, the God who created everything, who sustains everything by the power of his word, and the God who is coming back in Glory.

We believe and teach that humans are created in the image and likeness of God, to be his children; that this life is an experience of good and evil; and that everyone will oneday will stand before the judgement seat of God.

So, then, what we you do with that understanding?

1. Ignore it? Hardly.
2. Promise to do something about it "later on". Dangerous!
3. Take it to heart, and live a completely different life. Yes, amen!

Some of the greatest nature documentaries you'll see on television nowadays assume that everything around us evolved into existence. It's a terrible premise to share with our children, because evolution is simply a lie. It is one of the most dangerous deceptions and falsehoods around.

We need film-makers, writers and presenters to begin addressing and countering all the bad work done. As a starter, we hope you enjoy the most recent two films we've produced.

So great to catch up with Ron and Allie Dart, as well as Wayne and Doris Cole, at Atonement services today held at the CEM offices. A really wonderful day together in worship and fellowship.

Yesterday we were privileged to share lunch with Ron and Allie Dart and the CEM staff. Afterwards we toured the CEM offices. Pictured at right is Ron Dart with Gary Gibbons and John Klassek in the audio recording studio.

The MessageWeek film studios are geared to film, but this audio studio is well built, insulated and furnished for the perfect audio result.

Our entire trip throughout the USA has been absolutely wonderful. We have met and worshipped and fellowshipped with so many wonderful people of God. We remember our sojourn and Sabbath in Denver, Colorado, with great affection. Then there was time with the Church of God in Kansas, followed by Sabbath in Joplin, Missouri. The welcome and fellowship in Oklahoma City was again absolutely wonderful. And today with Christian Educational Services, in Tyler Texas, was no exception. How good it is to experience the bonds and bridges between brothers in the faith.

Our on-location work will take us to the USA for almost six weeks, where we'll be visiting with several Church of God congregations. We arrive in Denver Colorado on September 19th and from there drive across the USA to Sevierville Tennessee. In that time we are planning on producing several short gospel films, as well as sharing several sermon messages.

Dowerin was a fantastic success, with beautiful weather conditions, and a very good turnout.

Over two days we gave out 73 copies of "Hope of the Resurrection", 19 Bibles, as well as literature and DVDs.

We talked to hundreds of passerbys, demonstrated the steam engine running on compressed air, with many conversations resulting in book requests.

Many people acknowledged that an engineering piece such as this steam engine had to have a designer and maker - it could not have evolved unaided over time. The question this begs is that if we did not and could not have evolved into existence, then who or what is the intelligence that made us?

There are two very different reasons why we haven't produced a new short gospel film for a few weeks now. The first is amusing. As a presenter for MessageWeek (now for some 15 years), good grooming and presentation is an essential part of life in front of the camera. A missing front tooth, however, goes against that grain. I had the tooth replaced some eight years ago, and am currently going through the entire procedure all over again - this time with a titanium implant. So my face isn't ready yet for the camera. Thankfully, today we had someone volunteer to present the next message!

In seven week's time we leave for the USA. I am deeply appreciative to have been invited to speak at several Church of God services/events in the USA. They say that most preachers usually only have one sermon; they just give a different version of it each week. Only exceptional preachers apparently have three sermons to their "quiver".

With four sermons now completed, and a couple yet remaining, I am reminded of the advice given by a wise man who said that for every minute you intend to speak, you must invest at least ten hours of preparation! Thus, anyone called to share from the pulpit must so do with no less than ten thousand hours of prayer and preparation behind them, a humble heart, and the power and presence of God's Spirit. (Sorry, if I'm not smiling in this photo; it isn't because I'm unhappy or unappreciative. One of the features we want to build into MessageWeek Ministries is a Board of Directors. As a Not For Profit organisation with potential growth opportunities, the Board of Directors will serve several important purposes. While financial accountability and transparency is foremost in most Boards, we also envisage the Board to work in strategic, content and constitutional development, as well as in succession planning.

If you have appreciated our gospel film work over the past 15 or so years and would like to be further involved, then perhaps nominating to join the founding of the MessageWeek Board may just be the opportunity you’ve looked for. We envisage, given the scope and nature of our film work, that the Board be represented internationally, consisting of men and women 17 years and older. We envision that the board meet annually in person, and several times as planned throughout each year using video conferencing. Board members must be of good Christian upstanding, be initially nominated or endorsed by either an existing board member, chairperson or producer and be willing to serve for two years.

Just like the times some 2000 years ago, when the first Christians would gather on the Sabbath for worship, fellowship and to hear God's word, today in big and small groups, faithful believers similarly get together, united by the same kinship and kindled by the same Spirit. We know that our days on this earth are important, but not finite. The world is not really our home, though we sojourn here for seventy or so years. The time given to us can be used for good, or not so good - the results of those decisions are all too apparent every day on our news channels. The weekly Sabbath gives us respite from this "world" when within the sanctury of our church meetings, we are refreshed and revived by the Gospel. Of the tens of thousands of sermons given last Sabbath, a message titled "Sojourners" was filmed at House Church in Western Australia. We've included it here for your viewing.

All donations/gifts are used to pay for the upkeep of MessageWeek Ministries, such as domain costs, media costs such as stationery and DVDs, postage for free books and DVDs, as well as to pay for hardware replacement items such as hard disk drives, uninterruptible power supply, utilities, and to cover the cost of the recently acquired power inverter. The cost of rent and power is covered seperately by a generous supporter of MessageWeek. All donations go directly to MessageWeek, but do not cover wages or travel costs. The weeks are quickly slipping by. It's not long before our family leaves for the USA, where we'll visit with various Church of God fellowships in Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Tennesse and California. We're also looking forward to attending the Feast of Tabernacles in Tennessee, an annual Christian celebration that centres on Jesus Christ. My wife and I have been attending this festival in Australia for well over 40 years, and this year we're looking forward to celebrating it with our extended family in Christ in the USA. Much of our work and preparation now centres on getting ready for this milestone trip.

Would you like to join us? There are festival sites all over the world. Perhaps a little background information may assist, directly quoting Born to Win:

You might find our latest gospel film different in that the presentation is almost unscripted, with the decision to film the presentation at the very last minute. House churches are on the resurgence, and the quality of the fellowship, services and teaching cannot be underestimated. "Sojourners" is a 23 minute presentation that you may find worthwhile.

We are currently utilising YouTube as our only streaming resource. Whether this is a good decision, we're yet to see. An alternative is to also incorporate FLV streaming options, but I doubt our current connection to the internet would manage the bandwidth. NBN might be the answer - in due course.

On the technical front, following a prolonged power outage some six months ago caused by a huge dust storm, we found it necessary to purchase a power inverter-generator. We then had an electrical contractor provide the necessary wiring and switching for it. The cost of all this has left us financially somewhat "in the red". Finally we have built a "cubby house" for the generator using left-over building materials. The inverter-generator is now ready for those emergencies when our server office requires power that will carry the UPS units for more than a few hours.

We're currently working on a new exciting film that follows the precedent set by "Steam" where we again confront the widely held assumption in mainstream circles that says "we evolved" into existence. We will show by the most basic of reasoning that we were "fearfully and wonderfully" created by an awesome Creator God. We hope you enjoy "Music To Our Ears" - which will be ready soon.

Just finished editing and uploading a sermon message titled "The Holy Spirit" shared recently while in Adelaide, South Australia. (Apologies for some loss in audio quality).

We have also begun, in earnest, to re-edit the book "Hope of the Resurrection" in readiness for a second edition and subsequent reprinting. To date we have distributed some 500 copies of the book, and the revised edition will reflect some minor but essential development of some passages. Also corrected will be several typo's. We appreciate the many helpful and affirming comments from many who have been encouraged and inspired by this book. If you haven't done so yet, feel free to order your FREE copy now.

We've booked a stall at the upcoming Dowerin Field Days in August, with an usual expected visitor count of over 10,000 people over two days. Many thanks for the recent donations that have completely covered the cost of hiring this stall space.

Our work has taken us to both South Australia and Victoria, meeting with and sharing the journey with brothers and sisters in Christ.

We enjoyed two Sabbaths in Adelaide, as well as celebrated the Christian Passover/Lord's Supper there. It was good to catch up with Calvin Burrell enroute to the General Conference in the Philippines. We then travelled onto Ballarat in Victoria, and shared the following message on the last day of ULB titled "The Bread of Life":

Last Sunday we held a stall at the Mundaring Rotary Markets. It was a very successful day that enabled us to talk to a lot of passersby, and again we were able to distribute lots of copies of the "Hope of the Resurrection" book.

Following on the heels of our successful recent film "Steam", you might be interested to note that we again displayed the steam engine on the stall table. This attracted many interested queries and conversations, and many people agreed that we couldn't have possibly "evolved into existence".

We further explained that it took eight months to build the steam engine and three years to write "Hope of the Resurrection".

Lately we've been working on updating and improving three short films from 2009. The 30 second television adverts for the USA are now ready for FTP upload. We're also looking forward to travelling to the USA later this year.

The first film we streamed via the internet in what was to become MessageWeek was a short interview with Christine Chandler. Because the interview was produced in Vivo format (a format that was bought out by Real but not subsequently supported), the film has until now been unviewable. In recent weeks, however, we finally found a VIVO player, and using Camtasis Studio we were able to screen capture the film and audio and then convert it to the popular Windows Media format.

It's been busy over the holiday break with the production of a new 60 second film titled "December 25". The film is designed to be simple, thought-provoking, and encourage viewers to find out more by visiting a local Church of God. Our work here at MessageWeek is simply to begin to authentically present the good news of Jesus Christ - and then let the work in the Churches of God further bless, mentor and teach new disciples.

On the technical front, there is always something of interest happening here at our server office. Because our server office is a transportable (or container) on a vacant block on the edge of the wheatbelt, it is subject to adverse weather conditions especially hot summers. With temperatures recently up to 43 degrees Celcuis, the risk of component failure is heightened, and so today we have installed an ethernet temperature sensor in our server room. This monitors the ambient room temperature, and sends out an email alert in the event of insufficient cooling.

We have just produced and uploaded our 400th short gospel film since we began some 14 years ago. We were planning on another film for this milestone, the script of which is ready to film. However, on Sabbath we decided to film a House Church message, and because it features numerous short stories that may appeal to a wider youth audience, we have decided to share it here.

In small and in big ways the good news of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom is getting "out there"; impacting lives, reaching those who don't know God and thereby making a difference. In three months we have distributed some 337 copies of "Hope of the Resurrection", produced some 399 short gospel films over 14 years, having developed a durable and working web presence with good redundancy.

On a technical note, last week we finally ran the www.message7.org server solely on generator power for the first time. We hope to do this on a monthly basis, anticipating any potential power outages that a long, hot, dry summer may bring.

Because this is such a profound and important subject, recurring in the Apostle Paul's writing throughout the new testament in so many places, we've broken with tradition and given you a pre-screening of a message in-the-making.

"Christ in us, The Hope of Glory" is a theme we've been working on as a new film script. We presented it at House Church a week ago, and then again at a Church of God service in Perth yesterday.

We present this 15 minute sermonette (a short sermon) here for your interest and comments; the dynamics of presenting live in a group environment is quite different from presenting in a studio.

In the past week we've upgraded our main video-crunching computer to an Intel i7-950 64 bit system with Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 graphics running Adobe Premiere CS5. The result is fast and fluid editing and encoding environment. One PC is solely dedicated to number-crunching HD video, and the older Core2Duo system to other graphics and web work.

Working with newer media formats also brings with it a steep learning curve.

The AVHD MOV format of our new Canon EOS 550D is rather "hard to edit". This is evidenced by the frequent crashes in Premier Pro CS3, and attested to also by numerous web posts. So, a quick search around the web, including some excellent blogs, brought some results.

We have downloaded a 15 day trial to NeoScene http://www.cineform.com/neoscene/ which is a Cineform converter, and so are currently converting all the "Buried Treasure" footage from MOV format into Cineform AVI format, after which we will then remake the entire film. We're hoping to replace all the MOV files in the film with the AVIs later this afternoon.

We have since worked on the film's audio tracks, and added new "early morning bird songs" to some of the scenes. This is a film you must see.

Getting ready to release a new short film titled "Buried Treasure". Filmed on a Canon EOS 550D in truly cinematic quality, using my dad as the main actor with pick and shovel in a vacant paddock, as well as holding a $3,985,000.00 cheque, this six minute film has the potential to "go viral" if for no other reason in that it tells a good story - Ferrari and all!

With post-production well under way, we're hoping for an official film release early next week.

The Last Great Day sermon, recently shared in Caloundra, Queensland, is now available here. It recounts the reasons behind Jesus staying on earth for forty days after His resurrection. From what Jesus did and said during those forty days, we can begin to understand a necessary ministering to the faithful that perhaps points to a greater ministering of humanity in the future.

Yesterday we signed off on the proofs at the printers for our new book "Hope of the Resurrection". The proofs looked excellent, and we're excited to now see many years of work condensed into this easy to read and important book. The culmination of two years writing and almost fourteen years of filming, our new book, "Hope of the Resurrection" is set to be in print by early September.

A big thank you to all who have donated time to help in its proof reading, as well as for your invaluable comments and appraisals. While in Tasmania recently we visited my grandmother's gravesite near Devonport. The cover features a photo of Leah by the bronze plaque that reads "Until the Resurrection".

Had a wonderfully blessed time while filming in Tasmania and Victoria, here pictured being interviewed by another film crew while working on location in the Melbourne CBD. We were asked whether we believed in "heaven or hell"?

Everywhere we visited and stayed God granted us favour and blessing, safety and success, all contributing to one of the best weeks we've ever spent on location.

We're currently editing three new short films, including an uncut version of this on-the-spot interview which we hope will be available in the next couple of weeks.

We're evaluating the strengths and characteristics of Live Streaming. This will give our online audience an opportunity to see and participate in some of the work we're involved with. We hope to facilitate live streaming of services once a month from various locations around Australia. Our test site is streaming from www.message7.org/live.htm and our archives located at www.livestream.com/messageweek

We plan to notify interested viewers of our next planned stream, usually on a Saturday morning. If you miss a live stream, we try to archive a copy at Livestream.

Our cameras and equipent is now packed, ready for the filming in Victoria and Tasmania.

The results are finally out!

Hannah's 90 second film entry of "Believe In Me" won first place in the Singaporean film competition, "What Makes a Young Champion". Congratulations Hannah!

We'll be away now for the next week, filming on location in Victoria and Tasmania. Looking forward to the filming, fellowship and the focus as we slowly expand the work and scope of MessageWeek Ministries.

The Barossa Valley is truly beautiful this time of year, with a fresh new green growth following recent rains amidst the yellowing hues of autumn. It is an ideal venue for MessageWeek on-location filming, and we look forward to further exploring that option.

Over the years we've produced numerous short films discussing "The Hope of the Resurrection", and now we're nearing the completion of a new book of the same title. This is a compilation based on those film scripts, and more, and is designed for the everyday reader. The online survey we've hosted here provides additional insight into what our viewers think. We'll keep you posted once we're closer to getting it published; a PDF version will also be available for download.

This week's news included the purchase of 500 cardboard egg filler cartons that line the walls and ceiling of our film recording studio. The egg cartons, by absorbing normal room echo will contribute to improved audio when filming or recording an audio soundtrack.

We're currently working on a new film script, and look forward to filming it in a couple of week's time.

"Don't Put God in a Box" is a new short film that one recent viewer described as "thought provoking". Too often we tend to inadvertently limit God by attempting to define Him in terms that go beyond scripture. We hope you're encouraged and inspired by this film which carefully and honestly discussed attempting to define the "nature of God".

By also now hosting some of our films on YouTube, some bandwidth is relieved from our Western Australian servers.

In the past week, we've also produced another 30 second short film clip, inviting viewers to really find out about God "this Saturday, at a church near you". This is a generic version of the series of short clips we specifically produced last year for the Church of God (Seventh Day), and the credits may be modified to suit by individual church conferences/groups.

No doubt you've noticed the new-look MessageWeek website. Gone are the old frames, giving way to a cleaner look with a slightly larger font, and all making it easier to navigate. This upgrade is designed to facilitate the newer, wider LCD screens.

Our technical work has also involved upgrading one of our server's main hard disk drives to an "enterprise" quality one. We have also upgraded Navicat to better manage our MySQL databases. We also feature a PhpMyAdmin service for those who require direct database access. And our online forms are currently being upgraded with improved PHP coding. All this happens behind the scenes to bring you a better media experience.

We've been working on writing two new film scripts, and hope to start filming on-location on Friday morning. Many thanks to all those who remind us that we're in their prayers, who support us financially, and who help out in so many ways. A special thanks to David Pedrotti in his ongoing support covering our utilities and rent costs. Thanks to Bill Hicks for his work in promoting some of our 30 second clips on US media. And a special thanks to Rebecca Klassek for her work behind the camera. We've spent the past weekend "editing and crunching film" after a successful filming session again on Friday. This is the second time we've shot this script, and the improvements have been worth it.

"The Wrath of God" is one of those films (at 19 minutes duration) that may well be an enormous help for many in the years ahead. Our work in this film has been simply to ask what does Jesus say about the Wrath of God, and then take a look at what it means for us.

A big thank to all who, over the past few weeks, have helped us through the writing and development of this important script. Thanks so much for your time and dedication.

The film is currenly being uploaded to our servers, and will be ready later today. The YouTube versions, Part 1 and Part 2 will be available later this week.

We're working on the next film, and hope to begin filming it later this week.

Most of us choose not to think about the "wrath of God". It's too confusing and rather daunting. Some criticise the very existence of God based on how they perceive Him in this regard. Others prefer a more benign, gentle, grandfatherly figure.

Is Jesus only gentle and suffering, or is He really coming back again but this time as a Conqueror "with a sceptre of iron"? Using nothing else but Jesus' own words, we can gain a remarkable understanding as to what we might actually expect. The truth may surprise you!

The price of injury can often provide opportunities previously thought inconceivable. A few weeks ago, I caught my finger in a wood planer, and lost the top of my middle finger, half way down the nail. Thanks to those who prayed for me. The doctors and nurses at the hospital did an excellent job. I'm back at work again.

Initially somewhat hindered by this injury, any inconvenience it has caused has been offset by being able to take a break from general IT work; the tyranny of the urgent no longer is so important. And, when we've seen the suffering experienced by the people of Haiti, a missing part of a finger is really inconsequential. What suffering and what devastation!

In Christ we're looking forward to another good year, no matter how bad it gets!

The upload of our lastest short outreach film "Peer Pressure" is now complete. It's been a busy few weeks, but yielding pleasing results. Instead of taking the expected multiple film shoots, this film was mastered in the first take. We hope and pray that this slightly longer than usual film, being 11 minutes in duration, will permeate the attention and help millions of people.

We have had to edit the YouTube version of this film in order to comply with the ten minute maximum duration; the abridged YouTube version works well even with the edits.

Upgrade of Server: We've just purchased a rack-mount Dell PowerEdge 2850 Dual Xeon 3.6Ghz server to replace our aging current www.message7.org streaming server. We anticipate the work of installing it to take place over the next month or so. This involves migrating all services, hosting and media archives to the new machine, and then testing it to ensure no downtime or errors at deployment.

We're also working on the proposed scripts for two new films, the first shooting of which may be by this weekend. Some films take multiple takes before we get it to an acceptable broadcast standard; the last film took three shooting over two weeks, before we finally settled on one. Other films are mastered with the first take.

The motivating factor in ministry work is, and one that governs any merit in our work, is simply if one person is encouaraged and helped in their walk with God, then our work is successful. For example, numerous people have been encouraged by our series on the Hope of the Resurrection; other films too have touched lives near and far. Faith in God is being strengthened, one day and one person at a time.

We hope you find our latest short film, "Grace and Peace" not only encouraging and perhaps inspiring, but that it's deeper apostolic teaching to be clearly apparent. The early church leaders, such as Peter, John, James, Jude and Paul, all had a specific and repeated message for the churches they ministered to. "Grace and peace", or similar reiterations such as "grace, mercy and peace", come from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

It's an extremely important message. The significance of God the Father and Jesus Christ's greetings bears relevance to our experience and understanding today, especially when compared to any primary, developed doctrines in our contemporary faith creeds.

After more than two years building, the new MessageWeek Ministries film studio set is nearing completion.

The ceilings are now lined; walls painted and finished, and within the next week the electrician fits all the powerpoints, etc.

Over the weekend ahead, we will attempt to re-shoot the "Grace & Peace" film, temporarily transporting our lights, camera, chroma screen etc to the new location from our existing small studio - which will still remain the primary location for all our editing/production work.

We have also upgraded the domain capacity of www.messageweek.com to store 2Gb worth of media streams with a maximum bandwidth of 35Gb per month. This will help our websites with greater redundancy and capacity. The main archive of all our streaming films is on a high performance terabyte platter at www.message7.org

Today we're filming a short film titled "Grace and Peace", the proposed transcript which has already been posted at our blog site at www.message7.org/discuss

We're in the process of ugrading our film studio's chroma green screen. This is the bright green background screen which we use in our studio filmset. We've used a variety of screens in the past, and the need has been apparent for some time for this upgrade.
